Friends in Need

This is a pilot project by KIRAN Cymru. Since March 2020, we have been helping local communities with their day-to-day needs, i.e., prescription collection etc.

We also ring elderly community members regularly to keep in touch and overcome loneliness.

Our Communities Our Strength

This is a project by KIRAN Cymru. This project has started from March 2021, under which we aim to combat adverse effects of COVID 19 pandemic by creating regular and structured opportunities for BAME community members to engage with each other through virtual meet-ups, games and cultural activities.

There are opportunities for all community members to take part in virtual social meet-ups, e.g., book clubs, bridge clubs. Learn musical instruments, e.g., Piano and Tabla. There is also a community musical group for you to join.

As a part of our community engagement initiative, we have started an English Online Magazine, called Story Cloud. All community members are encouraged to take pat in creative writing. Story Cloud will publish the selected short stories, poetry and feature written by community members. Please visit our English online magazine at www.storycloud.org.uk

We run a Bengali online literature magazine, called Golpo Cloud / গল্প Cloud, as a part of this project. Golpo Cloud was started during the pandemic to give community members a chance to express their feelings, engage with other people and stay connected. Community people are encouraged to send their writings, e.g., poetry, short stories to this magazine. Currently this magazine has more 100 writers and about 30000 hits on our website. This magazine has about 2500 followers on Facebook.  Please click here to visit the magazine website. Please contact us if you want to send your writings.

KIRAN Cymru, as a part of this project , also organise many activities and events to promote Bengali Art, Culture and Heritage. Please check our website’s ‘Events’ page for more information.

Circular Living

We do not INHERIT the earth from our ancestors, we BORROW it from our children'

Circular Living is a project by KIRAN Cymru that is started during the COVID 19 lockdown. The purpose of this project is to relieve the financial hardship of the community members by recycling the provision of furniture, other and other household items.

Currently, this programme is only active in Roath, Cardiff. So far we have collected 37 pairs of nearly new trainers, 9 pairs of adult Jeans and 3 Jumpers and re-distributed them among community members who needed them urgently. Please visit the website if you want to know more about Circular Living.
